Blessing the Pharaoh
“Blessing the Pharaoh” symbolises the dawning of a new age that returns the sacred feminine back into harmony in our psyche. The painting tells an alchemical, archetypal story of inner sight unifying left and right brain ways of thinking. The figures are based on the Egyptian statue in Cairo museum of the gods Horus (left) and Seth (right) blessing Ramesses III.
The central figure has Sofia’s eyes and the facial features and moko kauae (chin tattoo) of her tupuna (ancestors). She embodies atua wahine - divine feminine lunar energy. The artist sees her as Hine-nui-te-pō, the goddess at the threshold of life and death who guards her human children as they travel through Rarohenga, the underworld.
Sofia is drawn to the ever-unfolding wisdom and links between Māori and Egyptian myths, which demonstrate principles of nature in the form of gods and goddesses. Here the artist weaves a new cross-cultural story, yet it is an eternally old one about the transformation of consciousness. With these symbols the taonga (treasures) of ancestral knowledge are passed onto future generations.

The Waterview Tunnel Project
Art meets Engineering

Photographers Tammy Williams and Gareth Moon were given unprecedented access to document one of New Zealand’s most ambitious civic projects, the Waterview Tunnel.
Given little capacity in the working environment for posed setup’s the pair adopted an observational approach and set out to generate an artistic record of the people building the tunnel.
The results of their photos confirm the tunnel’s place in engineering history. Graphic, iconic and powerful. Engaging portraits and unreal landscapes. The photography tells a story of audacious engineering, humanity and the contrasts and interactions between the two.

eyes of an 8 year old boy, while he and his father overcome the loss of his mother.

When asked to come on board to create a new identity for KPAX a financial
services and software development company in London. We where presented
with a range of obstacles to over come. The main challenge was to design
something that transcended the wide verity of European and Asian language and design
preferences. The company had a rapidly growing presents across
Europe and in to the emerging markets of Asia.
The brief was to make a strong visual package that can adapt to different
markets and a wide range of format's from digital, print through to IOS
and android Apps
With the knowledge that the text was going to change depending on the territory.
We stared with one question, how do we tell this story in one Image ?
Our approach as story tellers was to create a deeper understanding of the
type of personality we need to communicate too. No one on the team had
the fist clue about merchant banking, stock and currency traders.
So we retained the help of Steve Robertson, a 30 year veteran of the
Hong Kong banking industry, We are very grateful for his time and wisdom.
In retrospect, working for start up companies is always a challenge, The briefs are often ambitious.
Things move quickly often with out the time to create cohesion in the face of apposing forces.

In response to James K. Baxters infamous poem ‘The Maori Jesus’, Ben Brown paints his epiphany as a street walking native, pushing back the veneer of wellbeing to reveal a discomforting real world picture of self abuse, religious contempt and anger. A powerful proposal from a contemporary Maori, on how he views himself and his surrounding.
Recorded Live in front of a studio audience, this revelationary piece of poetry become immortalized in wax as a direct to disk recording in a one-off performance at The Naval Point Yacht Club on the 19th of April, 2013. We where honored and privileged to document this special moment.
